I should really just stop reading blogs and then stop looking the blogs that they follow! But I won't and I know it. I was reading Ranger Anna's blog a while back and she follows a lot of quilting bloggers.... and I ended up at Terrie Sandelin's blog. http://terriesandelin.blogspot.com/
Now as a few of you know, OK maybe one of you.... I don't quilt. I can make stars and participate. But I didn't have to QUILT IT! Perfect! BUT I do have one weakness.... and that is Hearts. Don't care what it is, if it's a heart I'm IN.
To re-iterate the email I sent to a FEW close personal friends, utility quilts are not needed where I live. Again, I have that cousin that makes the most beautiful quilts by hand start to finish, and you remember I have one with blue HEARTS that she made me. It's carefully stored in that plastic zipper bag for protection in my closet. Yup it's still there, saw it this morning. And Ranger Anna has made some of the most beautiful quilts as well! AWESOME Themes and probably my favorite is the tree. Being the TREE person I am.... I love it. *I also ADORE those little "A Kind Hearted Lady Lives Here" Mug Rugs. They have a Kitty on them.... think Cat House On the Kings and Mythicbells Persians..... Ya know? I've got to get on her list somehow..... *mental note
Ok so back to where was I again? Oh yeah, Hearts, squares, crippled hand, sisters wall hanger....and Miniatures in Minutes. Right.... So again here is the NON Miniature heart wall hanger I made for my sister last week.
Yup, turned out pretty good and she absolutely loved it! *Points!So I decided to try the ONE inch squares to make another one like the original instructions. I knew what issues I had making the first one, I'll give it a whirl. Ok I did, but it's SO small I'm going to have to think of something really creative to do with it. Back to 1.5" squares... and by golly I think I REALLY LOVE THIS:
Too bad you can't see the detail in the deep red flower print and some of the other fabric effects.... really, really nice. But the "fold and sew" method is right up my alley, and having it on something that keeps everything straight gives me a lot of confidence. Are they quilty quilty? No not yet.... but I'm working up the courage to try to add some fancy dancy stitchin here and there..... and this was all I needed to get me going~ ^5 Ranger Anna! I think it's good thing she's heading back to Yellowstone for the summer, maybe I won't get side tracked. :-) For awhile anyways~
So kids, this is what I'm doin' for the moment, I know you've been on pins and needles wondering (me too, literally). The hand will cripple up once again, but the end result will be worth it.
