Something Quick, Fun and Pretty

2010 is in the books! Thank Goodness~

What's new? Same thing, different day. Molly and I are skipping along with the Stud Pants. We've had some very favorable responses and that is the best part of the process.

In the meantime, during the slow times I've managed to keep myself busy just doing little things that caught my eye. I've made some bookmarks and some candle adornments. A very unique but really neat idea. The part that I found most interesting is that you can buy a battery operated candle OR you can use a real candle and after a little work, can insert a battery operated tea light. When I first saw them I didn't think the candle would be useful at all. But they are SAFE for a home with cats and in addition, we had a power outage during the holidays and I left one going in my room and it was plenty of light to make sure I didn't TRIP! They flicker nicely and with the decorative additions they are something quite different.

I'll just ad a pic or two as a tease, and if you would like to see the whole write up and availability you can go to my website. I'll add the pictures and suggested ways to attach the designs to the candles.

I'm not going to say anything about how long before my next post.... it doesn't help!
Blessings,
Nanc

Where does the time go?

August already~Goodness time goes by so quickly! Weather has been wonderful here in So Cal, we've turned the air on only ONCE so far this year. Now if fall will bring us some rain and a lot of snow up north, we'll be looking really good! I did read that snow is expected to be heavy come winter so we're hoping "they" know what they're talking about. Otherwise, the grass is coming out and we're putting in cactus and concrete. Sounds dreadful but it's reality.

Here in "the cave" I'm preparing for a couple of fall and winter craft shows. Also working on creating Molly's version of stud pants to make available for the inquiries at the KittyCam. I've just finished my first sample and will forward it up to Molly for her review. I think for the purpose they are really well thought out. Hopefully we'll get a lot of interest and be able to share the success with the Cat House on the Kings. They do such a wonderful job at taking care of those little critters that would have no chance of a loving home without them.

I'll post a couple of the things just added to my website, and you can get the details by checking it out. All are Mythicbells and kitty related as you might well imagine.

Well I'll try and not let so much time lapse between entries. Probably said that before~but it is what it is.

Blessings~

Embossed Towels ~ This N That

Back to Back Champion Los Angeles Lakers!
Yeah TEAM!

Now that I have THAT out of my system,

There are new embossed designs as well as the offering of velour fingertip towels on the website.

Multiple designs in the embossed patterns and any of the regular embroidery patterns can also be stitched on the towels.

On a sad note, we lost Mabel on 5/27/10. Mort isn't adjusting well to being an only child, and is quite lost without her. He needs a lot of attention and guidance being he's pretty much blind and deaf.... we do our best to help him.

Rest in Peace Momma's Little Baby~

Thanks for stopping by, I'll try and be better at posting as I come up with additional ideas and offerings.
Blessings,
Nanc

Kitty Vests

Sewing is a hobby I've done since my school days. God Bless Miss Drake, my 7th grade Home Economics teacher. She was a gem... and so full of patience, support and encouragement. Each time I sit at the machine, she appears in my mind. A Beautiful Soul.

Of late, I found these vest patterns and thought they might draw a bit of interest. The first pic is Silver and Goldens and if they don't look like Mythicbells Persians I don't know what would. Molly jumped right on the first one I made, and she models below. Several of our KittyCam viewers have other versions as it were and I've tried to find fabric for those as well. My mom had a beaded pattern that looked like Persians to us, so she made a pair to post. They are also listed on our website, under Bonnie B's Jewelry.

I'll leave the pictures to tell the rest for themselves.

Thanks for stopping by~

Dena's Jacket "Skully's Mom"

A friend wanted me to embroider a name for a jacket she was making.  Her son's nickname is Skully and she merely wanted it to be "Skully's Mom" on the back.  She also said she had some interesting fabric to line it with. I learn that the lining is skulls and roses, which is when the "magic" started.  I had purchased a couple of designs that I thought might be just perfect~Low and behold they were ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!  I adjusted the rose colors to match her lining and as you can see below she produced a beautiful jacket!  Skully was so PROUD and who could blame him?  I think it came out fabulous!

She makes these great jackets and sells them by the boat load!  Very reasonable as well~ If anyone might be interested in something with this style of jacket, just let me know and I'll ask her for the particulars.
I'm working on my website, adding my mom's jewelry~

Blessings,

The Creative Voices

Are SCREAMING at me.... The pictures below (eagle) are of a jacket my mom bought for me on a RV'ing excursion where we wet up to  Oatman, AZ.  This was 20 years ago, but an eagle design is timeless.  I happened across it in the closet recently and the voices started!  After looking at it for sometime, I've determined it is rather the same as the jacket I made for my cousin.  Meaning it was a sweatshirt that has been cut down the front with a V-neck and then the jeans and fabric design added.  Again this was 20 years ago, and I remember it was 55 dollars.    But not my point..... and maybe you can help me here.   The voices are confirming that this is my next project... no problem.  But what they aren't saying is that I HATE to make generic stuff - period!  Sooo then it's "what?" I'm thinking it's paw/cat related... OK fine.... still generic.  BUT I have to make one to confirm my theory on how I'll make it.  THEN, if we have something that is workable, the real product comes about.
I've had this spinning around in my head for about 3 weeks.  I've determined the following (right or wrong).
Pros:
Sweatshirts are 50-50 meaning they are not uncomfortably heavy
Adding the decor in a vest style provides core warmth,  whether it be jeans or quilted fabric (an idea)
The vest style attached keeps the sweatshirt bottom/ribbing stable, doesn't bunch in any one area
Any sweatshirt base color is suitable "I think"
Although I have shoulders like a LINEBACKER, the actual sleeve seams end up half way to my elbows, plenty of roomy room and makes sizing label not vital to fit
Can be  designed with embroidered pet names and cat designs to be a personalized one of a kind item.
Probably more, but I don't have ALL DAY! LOL
Cons:
I'm FRUGAL.  That means I'm not all excited to make a "sample" cat design (you know it could even be a Mythicbells Persians named and designed theme)  So I think I'll make a dog theme with Pugs so that I can identify the process, materials and the like.
Jeans are expensive, that means that we exchange them for fabric or quilted fabric maybe
I can't get a decent picture from this KODAK camera, so anyone looking at the pictures for color content will think the paw fabric is UGLY and it isn't!
Oh well that's enough... let's just post the pics and see if anyone is remotely interested!
I'm thinking it's going to be a 45 dollar item or so (depending-maybe a bit more) ...... and IF there is interest, I'll try and go shop for more themed fabric.
PLEASE feel free to email or at least comment to let me know if I'm wasting my time here....  I never know what to expect.

Thoughts of fabric (paws), design addition (silhouette cat perhaps) front edge binding (striped denim) Navy Sweatshirt.  Additional designs will be added to the front top area, probably paws in some form.  Or if it was an order, maybe cat names.....

My Jacket (back)
View of the cat silhouette design I stitched out *outline would be the shape
The options shown together *the paw fabric is much more subtle
The front of my jacket.. open to a number of possibilities

OH I added my Mom's St Patrick's Day stuff on the website!
Here's a pic
